Itching

It is now day 3 with my Sisterlocks..still loving them! I have been putting my hair in rollers over night because I know I sleep wild and my roller set would not last if I just put a scarf on it. Not being able to put any oils in my hair is leavin my hair a bit itchy... I've been rubbing it, not scratching because I know dandruff will appear. It's been working so far! I go for my follow-up Tuesday :)

Beginning of a New Beginning--Intro

QUICK INTRO

I've had processed/relaxed hair for the most of my life. One thing I've always hated was sitting in salons waiting hours and hours to get my hair finished..JUST so it could look like some crap as soon as a little moisture got to it or be messy by the next day. I just got soooo tired of that whole process!! I just went onto braids and weaves, a little pricey at times but I didn't have to worry about much with the climate changes, just get up, pin up, wet, mouse, or brush and I was out the door! I loved it BUT when it came time to taking them out, I cried, pouted, actually was tempted to take scissors to it a couple of times! Been going threw the braids/weaves process for almost 3 years now and BOY am I tired of it!! Even put a texturizer in my hair in November to see if I can do the 'relaxed' look again, it didn't take in all parts of my hair, which lead me to pressing it every 2 days or so. That only lasted for a month and I was back on weaves until February. Been wearing my hair 'natural' for a couple months now....

Decision to go with Sisterlocks

I've always wanted Locks but wasn't too sure if I was going to like them or not. Been back and forth about the decision for the last 2 years now. When I've had braids, I always enjoyed doing different styles with them and with relaxed hair, I've always loved curls, pin ups, crimps, etc. I wanted something that I can pin up, curl, and style...all without having to worry about what would happen to it when the climate changed or having to go threw hours of taking it out. Talking to one of my friends really helped me decide that I would like to have locks but was at a stand still with not being able to do all the things I normally did with my own hair. I started to do a little research online and accidentally stumbled upon Sisterlocks, after reading everything on Sisterlocks.com, following different blogs, and talking about it with people who has them I decided that THIS will be the best move for me! My consultation was on March 30th !!! I got all the information I needed, questions answered by my SL consultant Gloria and by watching the SL starter video!! My appt for installation is April 23rd,25th...11 more days!! IM EXCITED!!!
